Andes Crossing
An unforgettable experience
Crossing the Andes on horseback is an unforgettable and incomparable adventure.
Gaucho Argentino offers a unique program: small groups that experience an authentic cultural exchange with the families living in this isolated place that they call home.
We ride through the centuries-old gaucho trails, cross rivers, reach the Chilean border, ride over mountain ridges with views of beautiful valleys.

Excellent service in the mountains
After a hot breakfast, the day will consist of approximately 5 or 6 hours of riding with a break halfway for lunch, followed by a hearty and delicious dinner with the best Argentine wines.
We ride through spectacular mountain scenery on well trained horses, you will feel the magic of this vastness and come to understand why they have such mythical power in the history of the region. Our 5 or 7 itineraries offer real experiences of a remote way of life that has not changed over the years. We do not go above 4200 meters on our ride.
How to Get Here
Our adventure starts in Las Loicas, a small town nestled in the Andes, one hour west of Malargüe. We will meet in Malargüe whether you decide to go by car or take the colectivo. Although it is possible to drive to Malargüe from Buenos Aires in about 12 hours, it is recommended that you fly to San Rafael.
Then, for the rest of the trip (2.5 hours from San Rafael), you can rent a car or travel by colectivo from San Rafael to Malargüe.
